I believe things happen in life, that aren’t “from” God, aren’t Gods “plan” so to speak, everything that happens isn’t part of a God “scheme.”
Simply, God put us here to live. Things happen, good and bad.
After working in churches for years, seeing how they work behind the scenes, being involved in campus organizations, huge rallies, nutty prayer meetings…. I’m pretty fed up with people getting freaked out about ‘making the wrong choice.’ Or… not being in God’s “will”…. Or waiting on answers from God… Or learning a lesson from “This”
- You don’t need to worry about being in God’s “will.” God is God… his “will” will be, no matter what you do, he created everything, what he wills is done.
- You were given the ability to make choices; I think that has more to do with life than people give it credit for. Free will means you get to choose to love God… you get to choose what you do. You may be perfectly suited to be a rock star and choose to be a plumber. IT’S A CHOICE. God doesn’t come down and decide where or what you’re eating today.
- I think people seek answers to things that don’t need answers…. Or seek answers to things that are choices. Who you date, is a choice, not a question with an answer.
Is God trying to teach you something with everything that happens in your life? No. Sometimes? Maybe. But always? No. Just LIVE already, stop worrying about every step you make, just walk.
In layman’s terms: Shit happens. When you step in it, it is not because God put it there to teach you a lesson, it’s because the person walking the dog didn’t pick it up in a little baggy.
